Performer Membership
Artistes and musicians can apply to JAMMS as performer members, to benefit from performance royalties earned outside of Jamaica. Where music is played, the performers, like the record producers/record labels, are due royalties for use.
Performer membership is currently limited to international collections for Jamaica-based performers. Copyright Laws in Jamaica require some changes to allow artistes and musicians to generate performance royalties from the Jamaica market.

Royalty Information
Understanding Royalty Statements
Receiving royalty payment is an indication that your recordings are active and or, you are benefitting from a Base Payment/UPA – unlogged performance allocation.
Below are the elements that will typically appear on your royalty statement.
Source of royalties (broadcast/public performance/streaming, cable etc)
Titles for which you have earned royalties (if applicable)
Value of each play for the period (or accumulated value for plays received)
The dollar value you are due to receive or which has been paid to you
Our Royalty Payment Methods
Our two main royalty payout methods are:
Direct to Jamaican Bank
Royalties can be received in an account held by the member at any commercial bank or building society.
Direct to International Bank
Payments to members residing outside of Jamaica are facilitated by international WIRE transfer.
Tools To Keep You On Track
Change of Address Form
Change of Address
Collecting Societies right across the world, including JAMMS, often have royalties being held for some of its members which they cannot pay out for one simple reason. Some members cannot be found. Those are members who:
May have changed their mailing address and not notified JAMMS.
They have changed email address, and not notified JAMMS.
They have an email address but do not check their email.
Each member holds a responsibility to notify the Society of any change in contact details.
In modern music business activities, having an active email address is now a basic necessity to facilitate easy and constant communication between the Society and the member.
If you have changed your address notify us here immediately:
Song Registration Form
Song Registration
Making money for you is all we do all day. Everyday. However, there is a critical role you must play in that process. You must register your music with us as early as possible after they have been released. Delayed registration typically means lost royalty income.
Unless you register your music with us we do not have a definitive basis on which to manage the rights in your music. Each Producer must advise us of what sound recordings he owns and also advise whether he has assigned or licensed the rights in any of his recordings to other parties. Sound recordings that are owned by a Producer must be formally registered with JAMMS as a means of providing permission to manage the rights and to allocate and distribute royalties to such recordings.
Releasing music today and registering them with JAMMS, or any other Collecting Society, many months afterwards typically means that the airplay activity normally received shorty after release would not have been linked to any Producer within the Society’s airplay monitoring systems and therefore equals lost revenue for the Producer.
The most successful Producers within JAMMS membership are those who pay attention not only to marketing and promotion of their music but also early registration!
