Christopher Edmonds

Christopher Edmonds is a media business professional and technical leader who has been working in the Caribbean music industry for over 18 years.

He has extensive and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the music business, through his years of operating digital distribution, labels services and music publishing enterprises.

He is currently Chief Executive Office of Remetrik, a software-as-a-service company that provides music royalty accounting and business intelligence solutions to record labels and music publishers worldwide. He is also a Director of Zincbeats / Kgn Six, a regionally focused music distribution and publishing partnership.

In 2005, Christopher founded Rebelmix, the first digital music distributor in the entire Caribbean, establishing direct deals with all the major platforms of the time, and representing over 100 local record labels.

Christopher has been a frequent speaker at local and regional business events and on local media, and also acted as the moderator and host for all of Jamaica’s Red Bull Music Academy sessions.

Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University. His Ph.D. studies in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University is not yet completed.

He actively engages in music as a Disc Jock and as a Producer of Electronic Music. He is the co-owner of the label BNM Records which focuses on Electronic Music.

He remains current on all major developments in the business through participation and attendance at key international conferences and seminars.

He writes for some publications, mostly about topics related to software and hardware engineering, the music business and music production, performing and DJing.
