Vice Chairman – Record Producer, Music Executive, Businessman

Stanford Cocking is an astute businessman, who has been involved in the business of music for several decades.

He was instrumental in the formation of JAMRAS the original collecting agency which was taken over by JAMMS. He has been an instrumental part of the Sonic Sounds operations for many years and is also Record Producer.  

He has been involved in the music business from an early age then branched off into Shipping then back into the music business. He first joined Dynamic Sounds in sales then entered management before going to the Music Fair chain of record stores, and then becoming a part of the Sonic Sounds operations. 

For many years he has been involved in several aspects of the business including traveling as road manager for artist, artist manager and Record Producer.  

He also served on the commission which formulated the Copyright Act of Jamaica from the early seventies to seeing it enacted into Law. 

Stanford serves on his Church Pastoral Council, is a volunteer at Alpha Boys Home, and the Jamaica Cancer Society, a school Board member and a life member of the Junior Chamber (Jaycees), and one of the founding members of Best Care Foundation. 

Stanford has an excellent record of attendance and participation at Board meetings, and also serves as the Finance Committee Chairman.
